Hearing Tests & Consultations
At Hi-Tech Hearing Specialists we conduct hearing tests in a private, quiet environment, away from shopping centres and noisy traffic. The procedure is disciplined and accurate without the use of automated equipment. You can be assured to be comfortable and relaxed during our twenty-minute assessment. We maintain close visual contact to ensure sounds are definitely heard rather than guessed. All diagnostic testing essential to the programming of hearing devices is completed.
Our consultations are comprehensive. It’s important that your hearing loss is explained, how it may affect your daily life and how we can endeavour to correct it. We need to know your thoughts and needs, along with our experience and training to find the best solution.
Whether it’s your first time or a need to update, trials of hearing aids are recommended. Quite often, hearing aids worn in your own environment for a period of time can assure you of their outstanding abilities, comfort and discretion. Your trial is also good for us as we need to ensure results, fitting and comfort are attained before purchase.
Follow-Up Service
During our discussions, you will be encouraged to let us know of any early concerns. Whilst all hearing aids supplied have a three-year warranty, fitting or sound adjustments may need to be addressed. Some prefer to visit annually just for a check-up or slight adjustment. Others may require further tuition to be reassured of fitting or maintenance. There is no charge for these services. Any aids requiring service beyond our scope will be sent to the manufacturer promptly at our cost and if possible, a loan unit can be provided.
Supply, Fit & Adjustment
A trial of hearing aids may start with specially designed demonstration aids or new shelf products dependent on stock. It’s impossible to have everything on hand however new merchandise generally arrives the next working day. Common spare parts are kept on hand for fast repairs. We are experienced with specialised fittings that may require modifications. Service is generally instant and ships the same day. We can be flexible with time for all services as we are not bound by trading hours.
Custom Earplugs
To preserve hearing or prevent water penetration, custom-made earplugs are superior to others. Made from ear castings, they provide a wider area of sealing the ears without pressure points and are very durable. Greatest contact of the silicon material is with the outer ear rather than the sensitive ear canal, thus providing exceptional comfort. Our hearing protection plugs are used by local airlines, industry and to users just wanting a good night sleep. Swimmers and special musicians designs also work very well for their applications.
Industrial Hearing Tests
For many years we have been efficiently performing large-scale hearing tests. Testing is performed on site with little impact on production. Our rates are reasonable and highly competitive. We make all travel arrangements for a worry-free smooth operation. This service is available Australia wide.
